MOUZ arrived in Malta as the team no one was picking, and they left as champions. A 3-1 grand final victory over Team Spirit brought MOUZ their first trophy since PGL Cluj-Napoca 17 months ago, and it arrived in style, with Elias "Spinx" Uldall earning MVP honours after dominating the final series.

The tournament wrapped up an explosive weekend at BLAST Arena Studios that delivered upsets in the qualifier, a bracket full of close margins, and a new map in Cache making its LAN debut in the CS2 era.

CS2 Upcoming Tournaments On The Line: What BLAST Bounty Meant For The Season

BLAST Bounty Summer 2026 was the opening LAN event of the new CS2 competitive season, and the stakes extended well beyond the $740,000 prize pool. Teams were competing for BLAST Frequent Flyer Tokens, with the champion banking three tokens toward future BLAST circuit events. Every other team in the eight-team playoff earned one. With the Singapore Major cycle beginning to take shape, this was a proving ground for rosters that had spent the off-season restructuring.

MOUZ brought a refreshed lineup to Malta, with Oldrich "PR" Novy joining from MOUZ NXT. Team Spirit, the defending favourite after their consistent form throughout 2025 and early 2026, arrived as the highest-valued bounty target, which is how the tournament's unique seeding format works. Lower-seeded teams select their opponents, with prize money attached to the bounties they claim.

CS2 matches today results: Playoffs bracket recap

The online qualifier delivered the first wave of chaos. Three top favourites, Falcons, Vitality, and FURIA, were knocked out before even reaching the LAN finals. Team Liquid stood out with an exceptional run through the online stage, eliminating Team Vitality and defeating G2 Esports to qualify.

The eight teams who made it to Malta were Team Spirit, MOUZ, Team Liquid, FaZe Clan, Astralis, The MongolZ, 3DMAX, and paiN Gaming.

Quarterfinals

Team Spirit opened the bracket with a clean 2-0 sweep of Team Liquid, while MOUZ came through 2-1 against 3DMAX in a match that went to overtime on map two before the French side collapsed on the decider. On day two, FaZe Clan eliminated The MongolZ 2-1, and Astralis knocked out paiN Gaming to complete the semifinal lineup.

Semifinals

Team Spirit navigated a tight 2-1 series against FaZe Clan, winning 13-6 on Dust II and 13-11 on Anubis while dropping Cache 9-13. Dmitry "sh1ro" Sokolov led Spirit with 49 kills and a 1.24 match rating throughout the series.

MOUZ came from behind against Astralis, who opened 13-6 on Ancient, before MOUZ won back-to-back maps 13-9 on both Mirage and Dust II to advance.

Grand Final

Spinx was the defining figure in the grand final, with a 23-kill performance on Dust II setting the tone for the entire series. MOUZ won Spirit's own map pick to open the series, then controlled Mirage to go up 2-0. Spirit took Ancient to stay alive, with donk finally finding form late in the map to close it out. But on Nuke, MOUZ held firm with a solid CT side to win 13-10 and seal the championship 3-1.

Cache Makes Its CS2 LAN Debut

One of the most talked-about storylines heading into Malta was the map pool itself. Cache was added to the Active Duty pool following the post-Cologne Major update, making BLAST Bounty Summer 2026 the first CS2 esports tournament where Cache was available for picks. It appeared across several matches in the online qualifier and featured in the Spirit vs FaZe semifinal. Spirit dropped it against FaZe during the semis, a result that briefly raised questions before Spirit bounced back on Anubis to take the series.

Final standings

It is MOUZ's first trophy since PGL Cluj-Napoca 17 months ago, and marks a strong start to life with the new roster featuring PR in his return to the organisation. Spinx earned the MVP award at BLAST Bounty Season 2 after a tournament-defining performance across the later stages.
