Counter-Strike is back in the Spodek Arena. For the first time since 2019, ESL Pro League playoffs will be played in front of an arena crowd. Eight teams survived the Swiss stage. From Friday, October 9, every loss sends a team home.

The format is simple. Quarterfinals, semifinals and the third-place decider are best-of-three. The grand final on Sunday, October 11, is best-of-five. A $1,000,000 prize pool is on the line.
That makes this a perfect bracket for GoCore Pick'ems. Every correct pick earns a point. Every wrong pick costs one. Here is the cs2 news you need before you lock in your quarterfinal calls.
MOUZ and Vitality were the only teams to finish 3-0. MOUZ swept M80, FURIA and Spirit without dropping a map. Vitality beat 1win, NAVI and Falcons.
1win were the surprise of the week. The ECL Europe qualifiers beat G2, Legacy and Spirit to reach the playoffs at 3-1. Aurora and Falcons joined them on the same record.

FURIA, PARIVISION and Spirit came through the 3-2 pool. Spirit's run was the shakiest. Their 32-match Swiss win streak ended against MOUZ, and 1win beat them one round later. Anyone following the cs2 live scoring from Katowice saw a Spirit team that kept dropping first maps and recovering late.
Vitality look like Vitality again. They won StarSeries Season 20 and went 3-0 here. mezii stepped up on Mirage against Falcons, and the whole roster looks settled.
PARIVISION never play quick series. Every one of their five Swiss matches went to three maps. Jame's side grinds rounds and waits for mistakes. That style breaks weaker teams. Vitality are a different problem. They beat PARIVISION 3-0 in the PGL Cluj-Napoca grand final this year, and the firepower gap has not closed. Our pick is Vitality.

1win earned this spot. Wins over G2 and Spirit prove this roster can punish favorites. Their opening match showed the other side. Vitality held them to one round on Dust II.
Aurora's revamped lineup has grown faster than expected. They reached the StarSeries Season 20 final and beat Vitality in the upper final along the way. In Katowice, they edged FURIA in a tight three-map series. 1win have nothing to lose, which keeps the upset alive. We still back Aurora's experience.

Our CS2 predictions for the top half set up a StarSeries final rematch: Vitality vs Aurora in the semifinals.
This is the heavyweight quarterfinal. Spirit arrive as EWC 2026 champions. Falcons are the Cologne Major champions.
Spirit's Swiss stage raised real questions. sh1ro and tN1R had quiet nights against MOUZ. Falcons looked sharper. They swept Aurora and took Anubis off Vitality, with m0NESY leading the way.
History points toward Spirit. They beat Falcons at BLAST Open Porto, and Falcons have played little since. Spirit's comeback wins in Katowice also show a team that solves problems mid-series. Unless Falcons drag this to Anubis and win it, Spirit should advance.

The CS2 scores from round two favor MOUZ. They beat FURIA 13-4 on Cache and 13-7 on Mirage just days ago. MOUZ are the only team left with a perfect map record.

So why FURIA? Playoff rematches rarely mirror the first meeting. FURIA beat MOUZ at StarSeries Season 20, and they adapted fast here. After losses to MOUZ and Aurora, they beat PARIVISION and swept 9z. FalleN's side has now seen exactly what MOUZ did on Cache. Expect a new veto and a closer series. FURIA is our upset pick of the round.
Your quarterfinal picks are open on GoCore now. Lock them in before the first series goes live on Friday.
If these picks land, Saturday brings Vitality vs Aurora and Spirit vs FURIA, with a possible Vitality vs Spirit grand final on Sunday. That would be a fitting finish for Katowice. Tell us your bracket in the community and see who calls the upset first.
