FURIA trailed 1-2 and needed two straight maps to keep their crown. They got both.
The Brazilian side beat BetBoom 3-2 on Sunday to win the Thunderpick World Championship 2026. It is their second straight title at the event. It came through a best-of-five that swung four times before Cache settled it.
The win is worth $500,000, split evenly between players and club. It also gives FalleN another trophy before his planned retirement.

This was the matchup GoCore Pick'ems players had been circling all weekend. FURIA had beaten BetBoom 2-0 three times this year, including on day one in Malta. Most locked in the favorites. The cs2 scores below show how close that pick came to backfiring.
FURIA opened on their own Dust2 pick and made it look easy. KSCERATO went 21-8 in a 13-6 win. Magnojez, BetBoom's best player all event, managed only five kills.
Ancient changed the tone. FURIA raced to a 7-2 lead on BetBoom's pick, then watched it slip away. The map went to double overtime. BetBoom took it 19-16, with S1ren leading the way on 29 kills.
Nuke was Magnojez's response. He went 23-7 and died only twice in the first half. BetBoom built a 12-4 lead on FURIA's pick and closed it 13-9. One more map and the trophy was theirs.

Mirage nearly delivered it. FURIA led 10-2 at the half and moved to 11-2. Then BetBoom won nine straight rounds to level it at 11-11. FURIA found the last two rounds and forced a decider, with FalleN posting 21 kills.
Cache belonged to FURIA. They went 8-4 on the T side and closed it 13-6. BetBoom had nothing left after the Mirage comeback fell short.
The best CS2 players of the series did not all lift the trophy.
Magnojez finished as the top performer of the final with 90 kills and a 1.23 rating. zorte was right behind him on 88 kills. Both players kept BetBoom alive deep into the series.

On the winning side, KSCERATO was FURIA's highest-rated player across all five maps. molodoy led the team in kills with 85. YEKINDAR topped the server on Cache, and yuurih chipped in 18 kills on the decider.
FalleN's contribution went beyond numbers. He called a team through a 1-2 hole in a best-of-five. On Cache, he delivered the moments fans will remember from his final season.

For FURIA, this title answers a hard season. They fell short at several big events, including the IEM Cologne Major. Winning a five-map final under pressure is the kind of result that rebuilds belief.
For BetBoom, the runner-up spot still counts as a strong week. They knocked out tournament favorites Falcons in the semi-finals and took FURIA further than anyone else this year. They leave with $250,000 and a clear sign they belong in big finals.
Aurora finished third after beating Falcons in the bronze match.
The next CS2 tournament on the calendar is PGL Masters Bucharest, starting October 24. IEM Beijing follows in early November, and the PGL Major Singapore closes the year. Every one of those events will open fresh Pick'ems on GoCore. FURIA's resilience and BetBoom's map-stealing threat are both worth factoring into your next picks.
